How my digital library works

How my digital library works

Much like a Digital Garden, my digital library is organized by hierarchy and topic tags. This may change as I continue to work on the library but currently these are the best ways for you to browse this site.

Hierarchy

Jots

Jots are like "seeds" in a digital garden. They're rough ideas that I've just taken note of, waiting to be developed into something more.

Concepts

Concepts are the equivalent of "buds/budding notes". They take a jot and expand on the idea so that I can formulate my own thoughts and opinions as well.

Entries

Entries are our "trees". Entries are polished, fully-formed essays that can standalone and act as an evergreen piece of content. They can be a deep dive of a specific jot or concept, or combine multiple concepts into one.

Anthologies

Anthologies are a larger body of text that could combine multiple entries, concepts, or jots. They become an archive of my overall knowledge. I will write anthologies when I feel that I have learned enough about a specific topic. Currently I don't have any.

Topic tags

Topic tags allow you to browse jots, concepts, and entries under a specific theme. These are typically overarching themes and categories in my learning and really show where my interests are gathered.

Bidirectional linking

While Ghost does not natively support bidirectional linking, I will be trying my best to manually create these links on this site. Sorry in advance if I miss some because as this digital library grows, it'll become more and more of a tedious task.
